Use well
Handle fireworks with care.
Fireworks are easy to enjoy responsibly when handled with basic care. The guidance below is general — always follow the instructions printed on individual products and any local regulations that apply in your state.
Before lighting
- Use fireworks outdoors, in a clear, open area away from buildings, vehicles and dry vegetation.
- Keep a bucket of water or sand nearby before lighting anything.
- Read and follow the instructions printed on each product before use.
- Keep young children at a safe distance and supervise them at all times.
While lighting
- Light one item at a time and step back immediately afterward.
- Never lean over a lit item or attempt to relight one that has not fully fired.
- Avoid loose clothing near open flames.
Sound and regulation
Decibel limits and permitted timings for sound-producing crackers are regulated and vary by state. Confirm current local rules before use, particularly for louder items.
After use
- Douse spent items with water before disposal.
- Store unused stock in a cool, dry place away from any flame source.
